How long can I rent a vehicle through FlexiFleet?

FlexiFleet provides you the flexibility to rent from one month until however long you choose and can provide you a long-term mobility solution

Through our website you can obtain a quote for an initial one to six months, in most cases, and we will always endeavour to source the newest vehicle available. For hires of three months or more we may need to change your vehicle once it reaches an agreed mileage or age and we will contact you to arrange to change you into a newer, low mileage vehicle within 5 working days

Offhire/termination

We require a minimum of 4 weeks' notice to terminate your agreement and this must be done by contacting 01392 203041.

How do I apply for a vehicle from FlexiFleet?

To make an application click on the 'choose this car' or 'choose this van' option. Complete the requested information and submit. You will receive a copy of the application and instructions on providing the required documentation to progress your request to the email listed in your application.

Identification required

In order for Thrifty to process an application for a FlexiFleet vehicle the following identification is required:-

Identity Verification
In order to manage our insurance risk and combat fraud we may conduct a search and check on the personal details you have provided using identify verification services provided by credit reference agencies and counter fraud services provided by Verius Risk Solutions.

The identity verification services we use may involve soft searching your credit file. Soft searches will not impact your credit rating or affect the way lenders see you in any way. You may see these soft searches as 'footprints' on your credit report in either our name, Verius Risk Solutions or the name of one of the credit reference agencies that we work with.

Where the application is in the name of a company, company ID in the format outlined above is required. A credit check will be undertaken by Thrifty.

The hirer will be required to present the original ID on collection of the vehicle.

How long does the application process take?

In most cases we are able to provide you a vehicle within seven days from when we receive all correct documentation required for the application

Do you provide insurance?

FlexiFleet rentals exclude insurance and you are required to provide fully comprehensive insurance for the duration of hire

If you require a rental service which includes insurance, please visit our website where you can obtain daily rental rates from one day or more

Deposit

A deposit of £750 or a sum equivalent to one month's rental charge including VAT (whichever is the greater amount) will be taken a maximum of 7 days in advance of the pickup date and refunded at the end of the rental when vehicle is returned providing the vehicle is returned full of fuel, undamaged and there are no outstanding amounts against the rental

The deposit and first month's rental charges must be made by credit or debit card.

Should the excess on the insurance policy provided by the customer exceed the deposit Thrifty reserves the right to request an increase on the deposit to match the customer's liability on the policy.

If the hire vehicle is from the Prestige, Luxury or Elite range payment by debit card is accepted but the deposit payable at the start of the hire will be the equivalent of 2 months rental + VAT. If paying by credit card, deposit will be as standard (i.e. equivalent to 1 month's rental + VAT)

In the event that the hirer does not collect the vehicle within 24 hours of the agreed time the deposit will be returned subject to deduction of one month's rental charges

Can you deliver the vehicle to me?

Regrettably we cannot deliver a FlexiFleet vehicle. The vehicle must be collected by the main renter as listed on the rental agreement from the agreed Thrifty rental branch

Are you able to provide me with a vehicle registration to obtain an insurance quote?

Initially no, however we can provide you information based on the type of vehicle you have requested at the start of the application. On receipt of all agreed documentation and confirmation that you have sourced the required insurance we can then provide you with the registration of the allocated vehicle we plan to provide for the rental in order for you to pass on to your insurance provider

Are commercial vehicles supplied with Thrifty branding and what is the charge to remove?

Our commercial vehicles are supplied with Thrifty branding. If you require a non-branded vehicle then each vehicle will be subject to a £100 charge for Thrifty branding to be removed

Can I take my FlexiFleet vehicle overseas?

You are allowed to enter and/or transit the vehicle to the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, San Marino Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain (excluding Ceuta & Melilla) Sweden & Switzerland. If you wish to travel to a country not listed, please contact our Flexifleet Team in advance.
To take your subscription car abroad Thrifty will charge you a one-off admin fee of £35.00+vat & we ask that you provide us with a minimum of two weeks' notice. Additionally, you must make sure; the insurance includes foreign comprehensive cover, you have the required VE103B documentation from us and you have our written permission. To allow us to process your request to take your vehicle abroad we ask that you send the following information in your request to internalsales.flexi@thrifty.co.uk .
